Wow, he's even older than Daddy!

Katie met Santa yesterday. It was kinda a fluke -- we were Christmas shopping at the mall and I realized that there was almost no line to see Santa. So of course I couldn't miss the photo op. Katie couldn't stop staring at Santa's face and beard. I'm sure she had NO idea what was going on.

I actually haven't even decided if I'm going to do the Santa tradition with Katie -- why should Santa get the credit for giving her gifts if he hasn't actually done anything for her? And I don't just mean that John & I should get the credit. I want Katie to know that the Giver of all good gifts is the Lord Jesus. And with that line of thinking, Santa seems like an idol to me. I don't know. Check in with me in 3 years and see if I'm still holding to that line of thinking. :-)

Oh, and if anyone knows where I can get a cheap but professional photo sitting, please let me know. Katie's baptism dress is gorgeous (thanks to my mother-in-law!) and I want to get some nice photos of her in it.

We had Gabriela's baptism photos taken at Kiddie Kandids in Babies R Us... they have good package deals and no sitting fee. You can just get a few sheets if you want. If I refer you we both get a free print, 11x14. And they do an AWESOME job, they work with babies all day long! We were so happy with them and the photos. And you don't need an appointment, but you can make one online, easily. http://www.kiddiekandids.com/

Cute shot...you'll figure out the Santa thing...good to recognize that you might change your mind. I found many times that comments I made pre-kids or that first year came to change along the way....

We don't really "do" the Santa thing, but K does. here grandma brought her PJ's the other day that she wanted for Christmas. She turned to me, held them up and said, "Look what Santa brought!" (immediately after Grandma handed them to her...) I said, "WHO brought them?" She smiled and said, "Grandma".

LOVE this picture!!

I wish I could give you a good place for photos...but having not lived there in 2 years, I'm no help!

Santa? Join the club of those of us trying to figure it out! My mom and dad did a GREAT job with the whole Santa thing, and I really believed he was real. BUT, I always knew the true meaning of Christmas. Anyway, there's a whole story there...but won't take up your blog space with it!

Hope you're enjoying the season! :)

There are definitely ways to tie Santa in with Christ. Obviously not putting them both on the same level ! but it's so fun to see the kids get excited about Santa that I can't imagine not doing it.

There are SO many places you can go for cheap pro pics... we've done Kiddie Kandids, Sears, JCP and Picture People. There's also Walmart and (I think) Target.
